Perhaps, this is one question everyone in Bangalore who are eligible to vote should ask themselves by looking at the very poor voting turnout in the last assembly elections. What a shame ??
The city itself witnessed a very poor voting percentage compared to other rural parts. Bangaloreans are the ‘educated elite’ of our country and are bound to perform this duty more than the others as bangaloreans are definitely in a better position to know the ‘best of the worst’. In fact the educated people have the capability to know the candidates better and vote for the right person. Yes, all politicians are corrupt, there is no difference in candidates when it comes to corruption. But still a Single vote counts since that is the right we can use in future to address our issues.
We people are masters in pointing fingers at others when Traffic goes out of the gear in the City, Be it Water crisis, Public transport or security to common man we are first to put blame on the government. In the contrary, what we have given back to the government?? We not even cast our vote to elect a government of our Choice, then how one can complain about the problems?
All the lame excuses are beyond excuse since a 30 minute stint at the voting stations is not contributed by the people.
Voting is the fundamental right and should be exercised being a responsible citizen of INDIA. Need of the hour is to self-evaluation of oneself towards the duty of the Nation.
